Holy Shiz-noly!

So upsetting!!!

(CNN) -- A girl's feet were cut off Thursday when a free-fall thrill ride malfunctioned at the Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Amusement Park in Louisville, Kentucky, police said.

A cord wrapped around the 16-year-old's feet and severed them at her ankles while she was on the "Superman Tower of Power," a police dispatcher said. The girl was taken to a local hospital.

An unidentified witness told CNN affiliate WLKY she saw a cable on the ride snap.

"The people on the ride just came and hit the ground," she said. "When I got up there, the lady she was just sitting there, and she didn't have no legs. ... And she was just there, calm, probably in shock from everything."

"That could have been all of us -- riding that ride," witness Whitney Sandfer told CNN affiliate WDRB/WMYO.

The incident took place shortly before 5 p.m. ET, according to Six Flags spokeswoman Wendy Goldberg. The park remained open, but the ride in question was shut down and will remain so until the full investigation is complete, Goldberg said.

During the ride, passengers are lifted to 177 feet, suspended momentarily and then dropped, according to the park's Web site.

Passengers drop 154 feet at 54 mph, stopping "just 20 terrifying feet above the pavement," it adds.

"I seen the car go up. Then, like, the cable broke, I heard -- pwchh -- and I heard a lot of people screaming," Chris Stinnett, who was at a ride next to the Superman Tower of Power, told WDRB/WMYO.

"The cable went under the car -- and I seen it pull up and hit a lot of people -- and I seen them bring their legs up," Stinnett said.

The ride was introduced in 1995.

Inspired

I'm such a lucky girl; I'm surrounded by people (friends and family) who constantly inspire and amaze me.
This weekend, I went to College Station to see my girls, Kimberly (Berly) and Shana. I walk into Berly's house and I'm immediately greeted by Kimberly, her two cats, her beautiful daughter, Alivia, and her awesome hubby, Alan, who is one of the coolest guys ever. They're perfect together, and her house feels like a home. It's one of those places where you walk in, and feel completely welcome. And at one point, while we were eating lunch, I just looked at them and felt so proud, which is bizarre, I know. But here they are, these awesome people who seem like they were put here to be Alivia's parents, although they're so much more to so many people. Amazing.

Then we go see Shana, who is seriously one of the strongest, most solid people I've ever known in my life. She's balanced and fair, and never seems to be afraid of anything. And she's pregnant with not one, but two little ones. My little Shana's having TWINS!!! I got to see her house, which is almost finished and is going to be so nice. And again, I felt proud seeing all that she and her husband, Chad, have accomplished.

I think it's so mind-boggling when I go to College Station, because I lived there for four life-changing years. And I have these memories of that time that will always be with me, so I never expect for things to have changed when I go back to visit. And when I go see these girls who lived in the dorm with me, and they have houses and husbands and babies, it's like visiting a time warp or something. But in such a good way!

Oh, and I have to give Alivia her shout out. Seriously, I was with them most of the day and she didn't cry one time. She smiles and makes noises, and seems completely content just hangin' out. And she's Alan's little mini-me. Looks just like him!! She's a cutie...

Let There Be Cake

Sometimes a "kiddo" weekend with the girls is just what you need.
Last weekend, I hit the Dallas trail to hang out with my girls, Amy and Allison. Did we go dancing? Drinking? Hitting the bars in D-Town?
Why no, we did not.
We went to Six Flags.
You can laugh if you want; several of my co-workers did.
But do I care?
Why no, I do not.
Because I had eight whole hours of twisting, turning, shaking, rattling, dropping, spinning, glorious fun. Plus girl talk. Sans lines. Not sure how we got a beautiful, sunny day at Six Flags without any heinous lines to ruin our fun. But we did it.
And we had cake.
I'll never be sorry.

So UPSET!

Last night, I dreamed that I had lost most of my teeth, my remaining teeth were loose, and my "new baby teeth" were coming in crooked.
And I was so upset because:
A) I didn't want to come in to work with no teeth. Nobody does.
B) I didn't want to have to wear braces AGAIN (for the third time in my life) at the age of 27. Nobody does.

So right off the bat, today became the best day ever when I woke up to discover that I did, in fact, still have my teeth.
